New Family Friendly Culinary Destination Offers 900 DegreeWood-Fired Pizza Baked in 90 Seconds
Residents and visitors to the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area who are getting ready to celebrate the holidays will have another reason to welcome and embrace the new year. A unique culinary destination will debut in 2020 with the opening of a Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fire Pizza franchise. The new 2,000 square foot restaurant will offer a casual, family-friendly atmosphere and a unique menu that provides the opportunity to enjoy a “Smokin Fast, Smokin Fresh” wood-fired pizza using only fresh ingredients.
The Shakopee, Minnesota-based Webb Corporation announced it is currently evaluating various locations and will be opening its first Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza franchise in the Twin Cities area in 2020. After extensive research exploring a variety of franchise concepts, a Webb Corporation representative shared, “the superior quality and community-based focus of Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza made it an easy decision to introduce it to the Twin Cities.” The representative added that the company is passionate about providing local residents and visitors a fresh-ingredient concept where customers choose from 12 Signature Pizzas or design their own pizzas with unlimited toppings. The concept appeals to all ages with the variety of healthy choices. Guests of Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza are promised authentic, artisan pizza with no pre-processed or frozen ingredients. Wood-fired sandwiches, appetizers and desserts as well as fresh-made salads round-out the menu offering. Beer and wine will also be available.
Minnesota’s First Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza Location
The first Minnesota location is especially exciting for Fourth Avenue Restaurant Group, LLC, the Franchisor of Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza, as Minnesota is the home state of the company’s flagship location, Pi Wood-Fired Pizza located in Rochester, MN.
Matt Mongoven, the CEO of Fourth Avenue Restaurant Group, said “We’re thrilled to see our brand expand in Minnesota. Webb Corporation spent months researching different concepts and was very focused on bringing the right concept to the Twin Cities community. Our pizzas are baked in a 900-degree wood-fired oven in just 90 seconds so the time from order to food on the table is about 5 minutes.” Gluten free and vegan options are also available. Customers also have the option of ordering online or using the company’s app to place take-out or dine-in orders.
The unique wood-fired taste starts with scratch-made dough that rests for two days before baking, which creates a lighter, more digestible crust. The restaurant will roast meats every morning in a 6,500-pound wood-fired oven and chop fresh vegetables throughout the day. “We’re so fresh, our restaurants don’t even have a freezer,” Mongoven added.
SMOKIN’ OAK WOOD-FIRED PIZZA FRANCHISE
The original restaurant opened in 2009 and was recognized as one of the first fast casual, wood-fired pizza restaurants in the US. Matt Mongoven shared the company began franchising in 2016 and opened its first franchise location in Ames, IA in 2017. Additional franchise locations will be opening soon in Colorado, Iowa and additional cities in the U.S. during 2020.
